About Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of Cannabis sativa or indica, one of the oldest cultivated plants in human history. It originates from Asia and has been grown across Europe as well for centuries. One important clarification worth putting on the page for customers: hemp seed oil should not be confused with CBD oil, which is an extract made from the plant's leaves and flowers and has an entirely different composition and regulatory profile. Hemp seed oil comes solely from the seeds, contains no significant cannabinoids, and is used purely as a carrier oil in cosmetics.

The oil is a dark green liquid at room temperature, getting its colour from chlorophyll content, which also makes it prone to oxidation despite carrying meaningful antioxidant compounds. Its tocopherol content ranges from 80 to 150 mg per 100g of oil, and it also contains polyphenols, carotenoids, phytosterols, vitamins, and dietary minerals.
