Product Description:

Apricot Oil is a cold pressed carrier oil extracted from the kernels of the apricot fruit (Prunus armeniaca), a fruit long valued across the Mediterranean, Central Asia, and South Asia for both its flesh and its nutrient rich seed. The oil is light gold in colour with a mild, faintly sweet scent and a fine, fast absorbing texture that suits all skin types. Apricot Oil is often compared to sweet almond oil for its gentle nature, while being slightly lighter on the skin, making it a favourite among formulators working on sensitive skin or facial care lines. At Maduras Herbals, we supply Apricot Oil as a raw material for cosmetic manufacturers, DIY formulators, hair care brands, and skin care product developers looking for a light, versatile carrier oil from India.

About Apricot Kernel Oil

Apricot kernel oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the apricot tree (Prunus armeniaca) — though it can also be solvent-extracted, the cold-pressed version is the one worth specifying, since pressing keeps more of the oil's natural composition intact. It's light and fast-absorbing, gentle enough to suit nearly every skin type, sensitive skin included.

Its fatty acid profile sits close to sweet almond oil, which makes it a handy substitute for formulators working around nut allergies while still delivering similar softening, moisturising benefits for skin and hair — though it typically costs more than almond oil to source. Where it pulls ahead is in its blend of phytosterols, tocopherols, and beta-carotene, a combination linked to better skin elasticity and tone, and a visible softening of fine lines and other early signs of ageing over time. That versatility is why it turns up so often as the emollient backbone across a wide range of skin and hair formulations.

Quality & Formulation Notes

No adverse effects or formulation restrictions are documented for apricot kernel oil, making it one of the more straightforward carrier oils to work with. If you ever need a stand-in, peach oil, plum oil, and sweet almond oil all share a close enough fatty acid profile to substitute.
